In this article, I will explore whether it is possible to use regular printer paper for sublimation printing. Because often crafters find that special paper is a must for sublimation printing, for vibrant results.

Sublimation print is what I do, which is applying heat and pressure to get the ink to transfer onto a solid surface like t-shirts, mugs, cushions and more.

I use sublimation ink, heat press, that along with special sublimation paper is a must for this process.

Regular printer paper isn’t the best for the final sublimation printout but it does a great job in the design and testing phase. It allows you to check color accuracy, alignment and layout before using the expensive sublimation paper. Also it is a cheap option and is better for the environment during the trial stage.

it supports the creative process ,you are able to create mock ups and develop your ideas without stress. May not be perfect for the final print but regular paper is a great tool in the whole process.
